Our first month in Portland.

We got the keys to our rental on June 1st. We moved at a great time because the weather has been quite nice!

We moved to Portland with no jobs and within the first week we both got jobs! We feel pretty blessed. I work for a catering company and Mike has the same position in the same company he worked for in Las Vegas. Couple of days before we moved, that position opened up here. Our prayers were answered, because he had gone through 4 interviews already & he didn't get them.

Just remember, before moving to a different state:

- have patience
- think positive
- SAVE enough money for 2 x rent for 6-9 months
- do research
- rental properties will get snatched up fast so don't lose hope
- look for a job

Our quaint neighborhood reminds us of San Francisco. It's very close to downtown, the river, the freeway... We chose a great location!

Our place is SLOWLY coming together, so you're only getting one photo of what the interior looks like. Hehe! Also, I don't get many hours at work so I started watching Once Upon A Time. I'm caught up with the show and have to wait till fall for new episodes.

Fred Meyer is the closet grocery store and one we always frequent. We need to try and find farmer's markets near us.

So the little things in life always bring a smile to my face. Someone placed flowers in the auto section at Fred Meyer.

The river is just a few blocks from our place.

Our favorite taco place: Uno Más

Our favorite Thai place: Mee Sen. We are here every week. Here's a photo of their yummy dessert, roti sang ka yha.

We frequent a lot of happy hours here. And they have a lot of them with some good food! For the both of us our bill is usually between $25-$30! We love that there is no tax too! Helps a lot!

Our local park is just a few blocks from our place. There's tennis courts and a soccer field.

And I leave you with a photo of us. The fiancé and I are taking a water break from playing frisbee.
